Title: Getting nylon off of the headers
Post by: freeclimbmtb on December 09, 2011, 09:36:39 AM
So I was being stupid a few weeks back standing on my rear pegs to do the superman.  Few days later noticed a hole in my riding pants by my right ankle.  Sure enough, theres burnt on nylon crap on my exhaust pipe on the elbow right before the silencer..

Anyone know how I can get that crap off without resorting to sand paper?

Soapy Brillo pads.  Start with light pressure and keep at it.   I've had a lot of success

WD40, old cotton towels (torn into strips) and elbow grease - it worked well on my old BMW Boxer headers when hot pipes met a plastic bike cover...
