Title: Will these wheels fit?
Post by: sofadriver on January 03, 2012, 05:27:54 PM
I need some expert advice.

Will these fit my S2r1000?

http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/mcy/2781368141.html (http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/mcy/2781368141.html)

How's the weight?

I've been considering having my wheels powdercoated this color, anyhow. That alone would be $95/ wheel plus tax. I can sell the tires.

Thanks

Yes, they'll fit.

Front wheel is ~2.5 lbs heavier than what you've got.

I don't have any weights for the SSS rears in question.... but I'd expect a similar weight penalty.

those are heavier and IMO not as nice as the 5 spokes you have stock on your bike . . .therefore, a downgrade

Thanks, guys! I was really getting ready to jet out and buy those - until I found these weights......

 (stolen from Motowheels)
 Wheel weights with bearings:

OEM aluminum 3-spokes, 11.5 lbs front, 13 lbs rear

 OEM aluminum 5-spokes (996/998 - same as S2r1000 I think), 9.25 lbs front, 12 lbs rear

Like you said, that's a lot of weight.
Think I'll stick with what I've got.
