Title: Sunday the 8th RIDE
Post by: muskrat on January 04, 2012, 08:21:33 PM
So folks, how about a ride?  Weather says 41 to 60 and something tells me it's going to be a cold month ahead.  Been reading about global cooling and all.  ;D

Thinking we could run 697 again or even Muenster but the turns up and around 697 are better.  I'm thinking meet up at 10:00 am and KSU at 10:30.  Fuel up body and bike so we can make the run and be back with plenty of time to relax.

So who wants to go?

Sounds like a good route... I can't though; my cast comes off the following Tuesday  [bang]  Give me another couple of weeks and I'm in  ;D

I'm pushing for East side - 697 - much better ride for tight turns.  Muenster is full of big sweepers of course and there are some here.  Was thinking of editing the portion of the ride around the McKinney airport and 545.  So the route will be as follows:
Meet at QT on the SW corner of Main Street & Legacy in Frisco.
1. We will ride 455 out to 75 and then Southbound and back on the Northbound service road.
2. Again 455 East to hwy 5 North (8 miles of straight)
3. FM 121 East
4. 2729 North into Tom Bean (gas up and piss stop for Mhanis)
5. Hwy 11 East to 69 North (no fun but only 6 miles or so)
6. N/NW on 697 to the end and then U turn for another run

We can reverse the ride home, skipping the hwy 75 service road onto 455 and back to the Tollway where we initially met.

This "shortened" route should shave 45 minutes and get us back by 2 at the very latest, depending on how many piss stops Mhanis makes.

You are freaking crazy if you think that after a large Red Bull in Frisco I am going to make it all the way to Tom Bean without a piss stop you are smoking some seriously good shit.  :-*

Yep, my hand is going good - by the time the cast comes off on the 10th it will be ten weeks on the mend.  Which, apparently, is two weeks shorter than usual.  Must be the Glenlivet clean livin'   [evil]

My bike is still in a thousand pieces.  Totally sucks not being able to work on it.  Put a bike cover over the wreckage so I don't have to look at it every time I go in the garage   [bang]

I do have all the parts to get it going again.  Last bit of donor bodywork will be here Monday, then it's off to the painter; the two-piece mono tail section is black, the rest of the bodywork is red, and my original tank is yellow.  Still deciding between red or yellow for the re-paint.

Definitely looking forward to getting back out there.  And the sooner the better, dammit!

That's what you get for letting her keep them for you safe in her purse.  (Plus I am sure you earn some demerits along the way...  Lots of demerits!).   [evil]

Demerits = getting "smited" on tob. Look at your ratio over there........it should be pretty self explanatory.

the roads were nice UP to 697 and the ONLY rain cloud just happened to sit right on top of that road.  [bang]

Good seeing everyone.

A bit nippy but fun nonetheless.  Some of the blandest bbq I've ever had  :-X crossing that one off the list even though the people were nice. Oh well.

I vote for a nice twisty ride out and not a heavy meal and slabbing it back home.  One of the best rides I had: Lisa I and left at sunup to Muenster and  I was home by noon.
Great ride on a summer hot day at least.   [Dolph]

we didn't hit heavy metal slabbing.
