for getting my son's Christmas gifts here in a timely manner.
Sent from Lansing: 12/13/11.
Arrived in Phoenix: 1/9/12.
Nice guarantee for Christmas arrival. [roll]
While on the topic of the USPS..one day in December, I received 4 envelopes. 3/4 had hand-written addresses on them. 3/4 each had a slight rip in the corner.
This happens every December and in every state we've lived in. It's amazing how the rest of the year though there's no tampering. >:(
I may be done with USPS soon.
Our mail lady is great. Wonderful person.
...BUT, the last 4 things I've received through USPS (that were not paper in envelopes) we completely damaged in shipping. To the point that I've had to have them replaced by the shipper. And that doesn't include my magazines, that all come shredded.
When I get something broken though USPS (seems to be the most cost efficent choice for online retailers), I usually request the next time they be shipped UPS. UPS usually gets it here in good shape. Wish they'd train the postal workers >:(
edit: I forgot the one that drives me the most nuts...and I'm pretty sure it's my mail lady that I like that does it. Every other netflix movie I get in the mail has a coffee stain ring on it. Like they use them for a coaster in the truck? WTF? [laugh]
No nails?
damn you! >:(
I'm just surprised any mail actually catches you as you move around.
The USPS's poor performance is probably due to the tremendous amount of time it takes to keep track of you.
Doesn't leave much funding for training.
Iz, how was it shipped?
First class = no guarantee delivery date.
I think it was delayed due to a blurred address label...
I've actually been really impressed with my USPS service lately. Got a package on Saturday that got mailed from Seattle on Thursday afternoon.
I have to say that I've never had a problem. I'm a watch geek and buy/sell watches all the time. The preferred method of shipment is USPS confirmation delivery. The one time I sent a watch by UPS (because of a super high value) it got lost. Took me 3 months to get my money. The situation totally sucked as the buyer lost out on a great piece.
