Title: aftermarket headers?? Post by: COP TZR on January 12, 2012, 07:00:00 AM Unfortunately I've had no luck on finding replacement headers for the exhaust on my M750. I was inquiring to see if I can get a Leo Vince front pipe to mate up with my LeoVince highmounts, but they said to me that there is no aftermarket replacement front pipe for Ducati.
Can anyone confirm this for me, or did the airhead on the phone not know what she was talking about. I'd really like to replace the ugly discolored rusty pipe. Title: Re: aftermarket headers?? There were headers for older monsters. But many times they were part of a full system. I've seen some on ebay for 900s. But they are rare and usually very expensive. If they are not damaged - just looking shitty you can get them looking a lot nicer. There's threads on cleaning them up, ceramic coats etc etc. Title: Re: aftermarket headers?? I'd just send em off to get ceramic coated. Title: Re: aftermarket headers?? Post by: sofadriver on January 12, 2012, 10:15:00 PM I doubt you would get much gain. Post by: Drunken Monkey on January 13, 2012, 03:01:59 PM Headers offer really minimal benefits on the older Monsters. It turns out that trusty, stamped cross-over actually works.
And as other have said, there are lots of ways to clean up the pipes. Title: Re: aftermarket headers?? Post by: dropstharockalot on January 16, 2012, 01:25:43 PM Google "Ducati Spaghetti Headers" for a wide range of images, discussion threads, dyno charts, etc.
Leo Vince may not have made a Duc header, but Sil Moto did (does? I dunno...). I know it was available for the M900, not too sure about the M750. M900 ones will pop up in "for sale" threads or on e-bay from time to time. Given the cost and how badly I treat my ride... I'll likely just heatwrap if I do anything. |
