Asking for a riding buddy....he has a 04 S4R, he wants to replace his stock clutch pressure plate.
He removed the cover and bolts and springs...but the pressure plate won't budge?
I have not seen his bike as I am across island.
Any ideas?
I have heard of clutch plates sticking but not a pressure plate. It should just slide off once all the bolts holding the spring have been undone. Has he given it a little love tap with a rubber mallet?
Give a slow squeeze on the clutch lever
I have the same bike. Do what the others said, love tap and squeeze the clutch. Tap the center of the bearing to try to keep it in the bike too. If it and the rod comes out, be careful putting it back in.
Thanks
I will relay this to my friend

Thanks again,
a few love taps & a gentle clutch pull and alls good.
