Ok.  That's current link.  I heard from my cousin.

I bet he is dead though and it's just not being released.

The editor from the school paper that first reported him dead has stepped down.

I'm not a Penn State fan- actually really far from it, but the world is now a lesser place by the passing of Joe Paterno. It makes me sick that he was ousted over something like he was.  I doubt we'll ever know the real facts on what he was or wasn't guilty of in the Sandusky situation.  I was first to say fire him but now a few months later I see that he probably did as much as he could without hurting his connection to his one true love. Could he have done more, I'm sure but did he do enough, I think so.

The greatest generation really was that and I think we will all suffer becuase they are dwindling fast and not around to remind us what a hard life really is. Without getting too political, but for some reason his passing has affected me greatly, I truly think my country is heading in the complete wrong direction and men like Joe Pa, Woody Hayes, and Bo Schembekler would have said something about it.

Here's to you Joe Pa may you be remembered for the man, teacher, coach, leader and difference maker you always were not for the monster that drug you down with him.   :'(

I would be (almost) mildly curious to see if they even toss a nod in the guy's direction at the Super Bowl

or if the whole toxic over-wash will muzzle any honorariums

Never been a big fan of arena spectator sports...

I am reminded of ancient coliseums and folks all too worried about

whether or not Publius the Penetrator will be able to get close enough with his gladius

to gut Nameless the Nubian who's wielding the trident and net

while a few blocks away from the roar and cheer of the blissfully ignorant crowd

the entire civilization is degenerating into a rotting feast of self-interest and special interests

yeah this country sure is headed in the wrong direction

but everything will be fine if my team wins   ;)

Paterno's life went in the shitter super fast. Caught up in the kiddy diddling troubles (not throwing stones at him but many would like to... PA laws are different than TX... I'll stay away from laws) but damn, he got canned, diagnosed with cancer and kicked the bucket in a hurry. Boom, boom, boom! Maybe it was nature's way of saying "you're done and we'll save you from being around to watch your Rome burn". [thumbsup] No fan of him or college football. But I can appreciate a semi graceful and timely exit. ;)

RIP Joe. [popcorn] [bow_down]
