Title: Electraeon cam
Post by: battlecry on January 24, 2012, 11:53:45 AM

Just noticed that the red Electraeon cam can interfere with the fast idle cam on the 2003 generation throttle bodies.  The swaged termination on the throttle cable can touch and engage the lip by the fast idle adjustment screw at the top.  Open the throttle and sometimes both throttle butterfly and fast idle move together, before the lip slips over the swage and the fast idle is closed by the weak spring at the bottom.

Noticed that if I push the swage in, it extends enough on the inside of the cam to catch on the lip and prevent the throttle from closing completely.

Easily corrected by filing the lip where it may touch the swage plug.

mine does this. i havent bothered to file it off as it doesnt cause a problem for me. the fast idle cam releases after about 5 degrees of rotation on mine.
