Title: Trick Carbon Bars!! Post by: adduncan101 on February 01, 2012, 06:55:26 AM Im doing some basic upgrades to my 1100S this week and I just picked up a real hot item. I didn't intend on swapping my stock bars at first. last week I did the evap can delete, I installed some Arrow race headers (first ceramic coated then wrapped), also installed Fresco CF cans and a MWR intake. The last thing is to reinstall my re-mapped ECU.
Then, the other day I came across a set of rediculously cool bars. My freind has had some on his M1100 for a little while and i had the chance to try them out. The bars are carbon fiber with a material inside that eliminates high freaquency vibration. They're lighter than the stock bar and unbelievably comfortable (results in less rider fatigue) all while retaining responsiveness and stability. These cost $449.00. (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i261/ADDuncan101/IMG_20120130_153916.jpg) Here are a couple shots of the bars on my bike. These bars are brand new for the company and an exact match for the stock Duc bar. I flipped mine over for fun. The only distributer for these is Full Spectrum Power.com (as in the light weight race battery manufacter gurus [thumbsup]) (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i261/ADDuncan101/IMG_20120130_161316.jpg) "Sophia" MWR (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i261/ADDuncan101/IMG_20120130_165956.jpg) Fresco-sound rad by the way! (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i261/ADDuncan101/IMG_20120130_170051.jpg) (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i261/ADDuncan101/IMG_20120130_165240.jpg) (http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i261/ADDuncan101/IMG_20120130_170025.jpg) I will post a follow up once I get the ECU back in friday and get a couple miles on her. I am FIRED UP! [clap] Colin Title: Re: Trick Carbon Bars!! Post by: korey on February 01, 2012, 12:08:49 PM $450 for a handlebar? No thanks

Title: Re: Trick Carbon Bars!! Post by: booger on February 01, 2012, 12:31:32 PM For the Duc owner with his priorities really screwed up :D
MojoS2R's just GOT to have those. Title: Re: Trick Carbon Bars!! Post by: Dirty Duc on February 01, 2012, 02:50:01 PM $450 for a handlebar? No thanks In the stock torture configuration... Title: Re: Trick Carbon Bars!! Post by: seanster on February 01, 2012, 05:23:55 PM How much of the weight saving are we talking about here? $450 is insane for a handle bar man.

Post by: adduncan101 on February 02, 2012, 10:25:02 AM I'd use the cash to buy a new rear tire :o I have them already, one more thing to do..... the weight savings is the last thing I care about really. It is a monster after all. The special thing about the bars is the vibration reduction. Most importantly to me is the fact that the bar feals solid and there is no spongy feal. I am hoping to take the rubber bushings out of the riser mount and replace them with somthing stiff. I hate the way the bushings feal. This scoot has less than 7000 miles on it and I really love it but the sorts of upgrades like bars, Woodcraft rear set, and the like make a big difference. I do agree the price is a pain in the ass but hell, we all bought Ducatis not Harleys. I love my Duc my HD just sits mainly because its become more comfy to cruise on the Duc. ;D Title: Re: Trick Carbon Bars!! Title: Re: Trick Carbon Bars!! Post by: adduncan101 on February 08, 2012, 10:42:51 AM Sorry, I have been riding and working to much
So, the pipes - cans - ECU - intake did amazing things for the Duc. She is outstanding. MUCH more usable torque and my ass dyno feels a deffinate improvment in launch and acceleration in and out of turns. That said the bars have proved that much more usefull than I first expected. The front end feels stuck to the road and my hands and body more stabilized. I went on a white knuckle ride the other day and was relaxed as could be. Its really hard to explain an improvment to a design through the absence of its negative charicteristics. The fact is you got to play with these things to believe them. The bars compliment everything nicely. Their comfortable on a bike with stiff or soft suspention, you can ride longer, harder, and I even felt that I enjoyed my ride more overall (but I have lots of other cool crap I just upgraded to enjoy). By the way Jason, Full Spectrum Power has a hand full of these bars in stock. He is a really good dude that has been GREAT to deal with. He hasn't had a chance to update the web page to include the bars yet but call him. I hope this helps. If I get any more details I'll post. Take Care, Colin |
