Title: older monster seat cowl bolts/screws? Post by: tristantumble on February 01, 2012, 11:49:50 AM im about to buy a seat cowl off ebay, but it doesn't come with the mounting screws. Before I make the purchase i wanted to get re assurance that the screws/bolts needed are standard and ill be able to buy at a hardware store.
can anyone confirm this? Title: Re: older monster seat cowl bolts/screws? Post by: Speeddog on February 01, 2012, 12:02:18 PM You can use regular M6 bolts or screws, but you'll need a tool to install/remove.
Thumbscrews can be bought from Monsterparts or your local dealer. Title: Re: older monster seat cowl bolts/screws? Post by: xcaptainxbloodx on February 01, 2012, 07:29:21 PM it will all be easily available, either through a dealer or online.

I went with the M6 bolts (same as what holds the sprocket cover on my M695). Got a pair of stainless at Ace Hardware for $3. I've heard stories of the thumbscrews coming loose and the seat cowl disappearing mid-ride, so I opted for the bolts with a set of lock-washers. So far, so good.
