Makes me want to go to a junkyard, pick up an engine and make a coffee table out of it.  Thinking of using the seats I may take out of my car as living room furniture

Very cool!  I have an extra Sport 1000 tank sitting on a blanket box, and some Monster tank panels on the wall.  :)

I have a damaged m900 engine I've been thinking of doing the same thing with.

:)

I would put an electric motor on the valve train just to have the Desmo valves work.

It almost looks like the new 1199 motor...are my eyes failing me or do I see chains rather than belts?

I saw that too. Was wondering what engine that was.

Wow!  That guy has to be the biggest brand whore known to man!  Look at the rest of the pics.

That will look perfect in the game room that I don't have!

The lack of belt covers caught my eye too.  Looks like the new superquadro engine...

I didn't even notice that at first but definitely looks like the new Superquadro. I've been going back and forth with Ducati's official Superquadro pictures and it looks very very similar, with a few differences.

So now the question is, who out there has access already to turn an engine not yet available to the public into furniture for his/her own home??

When I permanently retire my Harley, I'm going to build a glass encased bar and have the bike inside it. I've already thought of how I want to mount the bike inside of it, the addition of some pictures of my cross-country trips with the bike, and some of the miscellaneous parts I have for the bike I want to add in the bar with the addition of some fluorescent and neon lighting for effect. If I don't rebuild the top end on it in the next few months, it'll sit in the corner of the house until my next house, which will be large enough to have the bar in it. I'm debating if I want to wash the bike or leave it grungy when it becomes the bar. I'm leaning toward leaving it filthy - just as it usually is.

And these would be awsome lamps to use in the room with the tables.

The wife liked the idea and wants a set for the bedroom

dam, I should have never clicked on this link.   [bang]  I now must have a lamp and table.  SHIT.

so, in the spirit of spending needless money, does someone have a link with UN-rebuildable engines or frames that I can snag for cheap?   [evil]

When I went to Barber this year for the vintage festival they have an office just off the research library.
In there they have the coolest table I've ever seen.
It's a glass topped table sitting on top of 5 Harley engines, 1 of each "vintage."
4 around the outer ring and one in the center.
While I'm not a HD guy, it was super cool and massivly built.
I would put one in the house in a minute!
I took a picture of it when I was there, when I get home I'll see if I can find it and post it up.

More of a closet really.   ;)

Those lamps are awesome.  I just got a bunch of old rotors, gears and springs to make some lamps too.  pretty easy.

Wooo!

I will post up the new engine table in the next couple of weeks.

Now I know what to do with the Monster frame (no title) in my shop ;D and thanks for the lamp pictures ;) have enough spares to do a couple of those too (all Ducati parts).

Looking at all the tables and lamps posted, I might attempt to create a table lamp out of a spare Monster reflector I have lying around. Let's see how I would go around accomplishing that.

I've got two untitled Ducati Paso 750 frames sitting out in the yard, but.....I don't think they'd look anywhere near as good as a Monster frame as a table.   :'(

He has a D16 as well, and a letter from Borgo on his desk.  I have a feeling he's either a dealer or so damn rich he can just buy everyone at Bologna lunch when he flies his personal jet there.

If you live in Ohio and can arrange a pick-up vs. needing to have it shipped, here's a Monster frame ($29.95) that would be a good excuse to be converted into a table...

Ha, a year later...just finished a new piece for the cave.  It started out as two wrecked multistrada frames and two old ducati 160's...

Measure (twice), cut, grind, sand blast, weld, degrease, glass media blast,  polish, powder coat....repeat until complete.

Next up is an awesome lamp for it made out of some remaining gears and the headlight and speedos from the 160!
