What's up folks,
So I ride a 12' Ducati monster 1100 evo, and I wanted to get sportier handle bars. 1. Where do I start? How do I determine a size? Are there any links where I can order these?

assuming this is a 2012 1100evo and not some freak 12 foot monster...

 you have tapered bars so without changing the bar clamps or getting spacers to take up the difference, you have a choice of a wide variety of bars from various manufacturers. hit up the board sponsers (you can find them on the left of the screen).

no bars (that I know of) will come pre-drilled for your controls so you will wither need to drill them or remove the studs from the controls (less desirable but if properly done its not an issue). 

depending on how sporty you wan them, you may also want to consider clip ons, which is a much more intensive mod. it generally entails a new triple clamp and the partial dismantling of your front end, re-routing of wires, and possibly new brake lines.

Some people are happy with Suburban Machinery bars.
They are a little lower and have a nice (further) sweep angle (24 vs 18 degrees stock)
AFAIK no mods required.

I have Suburban Machinery bars and am happy with them.  A nice compromise between stock and clip-ons....sporty but still comfortable, and trick looking.  I believe they only sell direct, and are a little pricey.  The workmanship is great, however.

Would these work fine alone, or would I have to change the triple clamp as well?
Do I just buy the clamps and the clip-ons separate or can I buy kit?
I know it's alot of questions, but I don't want to f%*k up my bike. Thanks.

You should do a search here about the Tall Boys and new Monsters.
I'm not sure it's the way to go, but search and read.

Maybe Woodcraft with risers are easier to make work well....

Neither will require a new top triple.

You dont have to change the triple clamp of the newer Monsters there not as obvious when you remove them like the old ones

just remove the handlebar risers. There is a rubber bushing that is pressed into the bars that can either be removed (like my left is used for a 12v power outlet) or kept in. not too intrusive visually. I'm going to use my right one for GPS mount most likely.

I had those on my last bike and while they look cool they don't offer the same feel the stock bars do.  You need to apply more pressure to get the bike to turn in than with the stock bars.  I like the ease with which my bike changes direction.

Thanks for all the responses. So i decided to get the 3inch woodcraft bars, and you said i don't need a triple clamp. Why? They look kinda cool. Could i get it anyways?

He meant its not necessary, but you can get a new triple if you want, might as well get a new bottom as well and nicer rotors, calipers, GP brake and clutch, STM slipper etc etc  :D

Do the 1100 Monsters run the 1 1/8 tapered bars?  I've got the conversion top clamp on my S4, with some Pro-Taper off road bars.  It is damned comfortable, plus there are about 100 other bends that will work.   Answer, Renthall, all those guys are cheaper than the Suburban or Speedy Moto or other Ducati specific brands, you're just paying for a name.
