Title: Broken valve, damaged head, is it repairable
Post by: phantomaz on February 19, 2012, 02:47:29 PM
Hello all
My 97 m900 has W heads ,and I've found cheap SS900i.e. heads ,but the horizontal one is damaged from broken valve. The seller sent me only this picture of the damaged head. In this scenario should I aspect a damage on the rocker arms or camshaft ,or the damage is only on the head surface ,and most important ,can this damaged head be repaired and used again or it is useless. Help please because I don't know if I should buy them ... thanks!

I wouldn't plan on fixing that.

I'd buy them if they're cheap and keep looking for a horizontal.

You should be able to use the rockers etc...

well if the rockers and cams are good ,will be difficult to give to machine shop my W horizontal head to be reworked to meet the V 900i.e. internals? According to the prices on ebay for v heads ,these one are cheap.
