Title: '07 S2R 1000 service costs
Post by: buckturgidson on February 23, 2012, 06:21:45 AM
Hi , I'm hoping for some feedback re : an estimate for service . Bike has 12,600 on clock , all prior work done as recommended by first owner , last major service over 2 years ago at 7,600 miles . He mostly let it sit after that and I put 5,000 on last season .
Here's the estimate :

New tires , Michelin Pilot 3s , new higher milage dual compound
New fork seals , fork oil
oil and filter
new belts and valve adjustment . Estimate is $1400 . This is the first major service I've paid for , any thoughts ?

with the way you laid it out there....is $1400 for the whole shebang? or just the new belts and valve adjustment?

$1400 for eveything you stated there for parts and labor, is a good deal...I'd say go for it...I would go so far to as to request the brake and clutch fluid be serviced/flushed at the time also, as it may not be much more....

Sounds about right. I had 6K service done last year on my '06 S2R and it cost me around $1,400 which included new Michelin pilot sport tires and timing belts from CA Cycleworks.
