Title: M600 side stand - how to upgrade/improve? Post by: jrh001 on March 03, 2012, 02:42:48 PM Hi,
I've got a 1998 M600 and would like to improve or replace the side stand. Like all Ducati's the bike leans way over on the stand and it has toppled over a few times (once when loaded for touring and once while being serviced "on the road"). I've already got the obligatory piece of wood to put under the stand. Some time ago I bought a centre stand from an ST2 but it's not going to fit the M600 easily, if at all. I've seen pics of an ST2 stand on a M900 which fitted after some heating and bending. Any suggestions on how to make the stand "safer" or are there other better stands that fit? We wanted to accomplish this with a very strong, very stable solution which was not only lighter than the stock piece, but hopefully, more beautiful as well.
