I'm in the process of ordering a new Digitek dashboard for my 2011 Monster 696 (don't ask, long story and a learning experience to say the least...)
Question for anyone here who has replaced theirs, is it possible to reprogram the dash so that the immobilizer is operational? In other words, when the dash arrives, is it "virgin" in the sense that no immobilizer code is associated with it?
I have the code card and keys from my previous dash and I am likely naively assuming that the code associated with the keys can be programmed into the new dash.
Additionally, is there anyone who can make the odometer correction, I've e-mailed SOS Diagnostics but have yet to get a response.
I've seen a posting regarding someone who replaced their dash on an 1100, but nothing specific with reference to the questions I am trying to get an answer for.
The dealer stated that I would have to order a lock set in addition to the dash, which of course runs over $500.00...
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
Hi Elgallo, not sure if you have found the answers you were looking for but I had to do the same thing on the 1100... in your post you mention just ordered the dash... so I doubt you have the new one yet? We are talking Ducati right?

Raux helped me out with advice on how to get it done... it wasnt so hard but I havent yet reactivated the imobiliser... I may try to do this weekend so I can confirm the procedure. At the moment it just counts down when I turn on the ignition and then says "program off" or something like that.Make sure you have both keys ready when you arm up the dash for the first time... I seem to remember having to turn the bike on with both keys. I didnt replace the keys or locks.. only the dash. And yes the dash is open when you get it not locked.
Obviously the new meter came with 0 km in the odometer... and I left it that way but if you want to bring the km back to correct miles for the bike it would only require some sort of a pulse generator and some patience....
PM me you need more help.
All the best
Graydo, I ended up sending my old one to SOS Diagnostics along with a check to cover the replacement, but thank you for the response and offer of help!
Significant savings over ordering a new dash along with programming keys. I should be receiving it here shortly, but it should have the correct odometer reading and immobilizer code programmed in.
The dash is, no kidding, a $90.00 item. Here is the problem for anyone wanting to retrofit an aftermarket dash: CAN bus. The majority of the information displayed on your dash, speed, tach, engine temp, etc. is passed from the ECU on a 2-wire twisted pair bus. Most aftermarket dashes are designed to be wired "directly in" and thus will not work. In other words, we are stuck with the Ducati dashboard until the aftermarket responds with either a CAN capable dashboard in a reasonable price range or a smart box which plugs into the dash connector and translates the information into the proper outputs (and input, there is a baro sensor for a fuel trim correction on the dashboard, this info is passed to the ECU on the CAN line).
mogadget products have a can bus. I had to get a breakout box to hook to the can bus to make my idiot lights work.
I just googled "mogadget" but did not get anything relevant? Can you provide a link, Grubby?
My bad, sorry. I got excited. Pure performance cycles and google motogadget. The can bus I referred to is for the motoscope pro I just got. They have a breakout box that you wire all the idiot lights to. That communicated with the pro via a can bus. That might be different than what you were looking for.
