I have an S2R1K with a full Arrows CF cans no Baffles DP RACE ECU.
Unfortunately in the great Southern land the power of the Police Junta here is strong, they
have decided to pick on us law abiding citizens and defect our bikes due to noise from after market cans . [bang]
I have contacted Ca Cycleworks about the retro fit Tip and baffle kit to shush the bike down a bit (with a few extra holes drilled ;D ).
I have been told that the extra heat build up with inserting baffles could "yellow " the CF .
Any truth to this ?
Anyone have any experience with Arrows CF and Baffles or similar set up ?
Thanks
They're not much fun to install, but they do quiet it down a bunch.
I did a set on some Arrow CF cans on an S4Rs (or Rt, can't remember) for a customer, he was happy and I never heard anything from him on damage....

That's good news Speeddog
Care to elaborate on how un fun the install is ? I guess you would be talking about removing and re installing the end caps,
If I go ahead with this I plan on re packing the cans while the caps are off.
Yes, it's the removal of the end caps.
Easy to drill out the rivets, but there's nothing on the end caps to grab, and they were tight and glued in with sealer.
So, had to take the fronts off as well.
Then punch the caps out.
And do it all without ravaging the packing.
It ended up taking 3x as long as I had agreed to charge for...
Since you're planning on repacking, you're getting two birds with one stone there.
I installed new end caps and baffles.
It really is VERY simple. working the end cap out can take some time. I brought them to my office and worked on it with a small screwdriver and a second set of hands during conference calls... With some patience and the right improvised 'pokey' tools you should we all set.
I have had 0 issues with yellowing after probably 4,000 miles and 2 seasons. In fact i have noted that after my 30 minute commute the pipes are usually cool enough i can touch them (check before throwing on the cover).
Based on my experience you will have no trouble.
Thanks Whitestripe , thats good news [thumbsup]
I has just about given up on this after an email from the supplier with a disclaimer saying
that CF pipes were not designed for this and could cause some issues.
Back on the front burner , I love the sound of the Arrows sans baffles but at full cry they are
F'n loud without earplugs and Mr Plod [leo] has a boner for moded bikes down here at the moment [bang].
I have the full Arrow system with CF cans on my S4R. The cans came without any db-killers and this is how I normally ride them. And they ARE loud [evil].
To be sure that I could ride when on track days I installed db-killers, we have quite tough sound restrictions on the tracks over here (even though they are rarely enforced). I did not remove the end caps. I just drilled through the conical part and then trough to the inside of the can. This way I am able to use a small screw to secure the killer.
Here's a pic without the db-killers but you can see the screws.

Can't you just get the Arrow DB killers and use a c-clip to secure them? Mine (Arrow Ti) came with stock DB killers. Can these be ordered?
The CF cans are not prepared for the C-clip as the Ti-cans are. At least mine are not and this is the info I got a couple of years ago when I was looking around for db-killers. Too bad though, it would be a much simpler install, and no drilling needed.
I think they specify the CF-cans are just for racing use and not for the road so maybe this is why.... :-\.
ah, that is indeed a bummer...
