Pulled the rear wheel out of my 98 750 Monster to replace the disc and found the sprocket carrier bearings were stuffed (90,000k) but I also found that the pins that sit in the cush drives are loose! Nothing appears to be worn but I feel there is too much movement before the rubber bushings take the load! Any suggestions? ;D
Cheers All (Keep the Shiny side UP!! [thumbsup] [Dolph] )
The pins are just funny shaped bolts, can be replaced easily.
The cush drives are replaceable as well, not very easy...
Yep, understand, and nothing appears worn!! All in pretty good condition considering the bikes age or more importantly mileage. Seems its the metal to metal contact that wears more than the rubber in the cush drives!? ???
Just that its movement that will eventually flog the sleeve (Cush drive) and the pin/s, :-\
Might have a chat to the fitters at work and they might be able to turn me up some closer fitting sprocket/cush bolts! [thumbsup]
