I'm trying to get more riding in...
Who wants to call in - cough cough, sniffle sniffle - sick?
You mean July 9th?
do you mean wed or mon? Also I thought when you mentioned this you meant next week, not the week after. I'm so confused :P
Stoopid work computers...
I meant next Wednesday, July 2nd.
If I'm not in Wyoming I'm in. [thumbsup]
Requested...I should be able to get it off.

Buenos dios mucho blanco gringo ;D
Meeting at Gorilla. 9am sharp.
It'll be a pregnant dog getting through and out of the city since it'll still rush hour, oh well.
I need to be home at around 8pm at the absolute latest cause I've got the doggie to think about. That being the case, we're gonna stay "local" but I'm still gonna avoid the Magic Loop. Since the group is on the small side I won't be watching for the sweep rider, I'll just be doing my thing up front and I'll just assume that we're all still together. We all ride the same pace anyway so it shouldn't a problem.
No Matchless for me tonight so I'll you folks Wednesday morn.
My prior post in this thread notwithstanding...
GC, I will txt you this evening with my in/out verdict. Hint - I'm feeling good about it! One of the benefits of being on vacation is having meetings and appoints change on you when you're out!! [clap]
Anyway - I know what I did wrong on my crash on that last ride. Won't happen again like that!! [thumbsup]

Per our conversation yesterday about the last ride you called in sick for... yep, there definitely was a testosterone thing going on but for Wednesday's ride? Naa, that sort of thing will never happen cause it's just "US".
Tomorrow can't come soon enough.
Forecast is calling for Sunny skies with high's in the mid 80°'s :D.
I've got a short - short for US - route planned... short but FUN ;D!!
Can't wait, I'll be rockin the new gloves ;D
The video from this ride should be the business! [moto]
i wish i could join you guys :P :-[ :'(

Soon, make sure things are in good form. Don't rush. If you need anything you know where we are [thumbsup]
Bah! See what happens when I stay in Peru longer than I intended? I miss a dang US ride :P.
Oh, wait a minute... [roll] I got to stay in Peru! ;D
I'm back, pregnant doges! For a whole five days! Um, maybe I'll get in a day of riding...
I have no idea why I'm posting this. I really should be in bed :P :-[...
A good ride [thumbsup]
Probably about 300 miles, maybe someone hit 100mph (sure wasn't me!!), no crashes, no tickets, a few bike related fire drills, and one big bike-mod screw up. More about that in a minute [coffee]
Today, just 5 Suspects rode. Here are 4 of them (Pat, Pak, GC, Cru) and all 5 bikes doing some personal gassing up at Gorilla.
From there we sat through 427 red lights leaving Brooklyn, sat on the Deagan, and finally reached twisties around 11 / 11:30.
Here's where things went a little south. GC discovered a crack in one of his exhaust cans. He thought it would be manageable. No dice. Between the deafening sound and the loss of power, he was out of his mind. A quick stop somewhere upstate brought out the Whiskey Tango repair to the can. Yes, it's Auto Trader and bandage tape [thumbsup]
This doesn't work too well. About 6 minutes after leaving this site of this picture, everyone following GC sees the Auto Trader fly off the exhaust in flames. Apparently, there was too much pressure , heat, and perhaps a spark that melted the bandage tape and ignited the paper.
Round 2 experiment involves a quick trip to AutoZone for Aluminum Tape and banjo clamps. Someone is feeling really good about this!!
Guess what, at the first switchback on Ohayo Road, the exhaust blows through the tape. OOPSIE!!
Now we REALLY tape up the can, and hope for the best

Well, now it's about 7pm, and someone (me 8) ) read the following post and packed accordingly... [bang] [bang]

So I don't have a clear visor... [bang] [bang] [bang]
I overhear a conversation that Ohayo and Peekamoose are out because it'll take us too far north, and we'll just head home.
5 minutes after getting back on the road, we turn off into twisties. Guess who's ready to come home and is NOT in the mood for more twisty shenanigans?... [cheeky] yep, that's me! What was GC's thought process? "We are just sooooo close, how can we not?" So we wind our way to Ohayo. I do NOT keep up here and I think I MAY have topped 20mph at one point going up that road. What's the last thing you want to see on that road? How does a big ole UPS truck coming DOWN the mountain hit ya? :o :o :o :o
Anyway, all is forgiven. The ride home was uneventful, and we were all home before 11pm.
Oh yeah, I kept up "most" of the way!! Yay me!! [beer]
Just another typical ride with your friends, the Usual Suspects [moto]
Great ride today considering how much traffic & exhaust issues we had to deal with. Good to see a majority of the US out on a school day too. We clearly have our priorities sorted. ;D I have some video of the ride & it should look awesome, but that camera is crap, so no video...It seems that most flash memory based cameras have crap internal software for the compression & can't take movement that well without making the picture wavy. Although, the audio is better than last time, the video is just annoying to watch & gives you no sense of speed (due to the wavy effect). So, I'll be getting rid of the camera... :'( GC, maybe you had better luck with your camera.
Thanks for calling in sick everyone.
Great pics T!
Good hang.. as "usual".. even in parking lots.
Great write up Tommy. Good getting out there with you guys, I think I was getting cabin fever. I got home at about 11:30, maybe one of these days we will get home at the time we estimate [laugh]
Thanks for setting it up GC. Glad that bundle of newspaper was burning in the road and not on your bike.
Ordering EZpass for the bike tonight. (finally)
Here's the first video upload from the ride (the other video will be uploaded here in a bit, so just search for the other one) ...a few days late, but still here nonetheless. Again, the wavy effect takes away from the speed & is why I will be getting rid of this cam. I may be getting another cam, but depends on some eBay items. ;D

True...those videos do a real disservice to our pace. :-[ I wasn't going to bother posting them, but was angry about the weather & watching these crappy videos made me a little happier. :)

Yeah, one of the things I hate about most videos, you really lose the sense of the speed. [bang]
However, watching his lean angles and almost touching knee shows that the pace was not too slow.
Could the distortion be from your windscreen?

I wish. It's to do with the crap compression software that the cam uses to write to the SD card. It records fine if there's little/no shaking, but as soon as some is introduced you get the wavey effect. The only real solution is to get a better setup.
Fu Manchu?
While you do lose some sensation of the speed we were going, it does show how fun the roads are AND I agree with Lethe - showing GC's and your lean angles show the pace as being something a wee bit faster than "cruise." [thumbsup]
I want to see GC's rear view cam.
True the video quality needs work, but it would help a tremendous amount if you guys could bump up the sound quality. Hearing those twins roar down the road nice and clear would add so much to the sensation of speed.

I know, but that means I'd have to pay money for a decent editting software. :-[

I'll look into that tonight. Not sure it will be able to get rid of the wavy effect though.
