What thread is it on the little bung that fuel comes out of? I'm know it's metric but is it a straight or tapered thread? Somewhere along the line before I got it an aluminum hose barb was put on. I want to change it to a 90* elbow to clean it up. Or can I be pointed in the right direction to get one?
That straight aluminum barb is the stock part.
It is a straight thread, but I don't know what size.
I want to say M12. Just to get a reference I dug in my box of old bolts and found the kickstand bolt is really close but a coarser thread. Not much luck trying to find aftermarket 90 elbows and my dealer couldn't even find a part# on either of their software.
There is no 90 degree elbow available from Ducati.
If your dealer couldn't find the stock part try a different dealer.
If I get a 90 I know it'll have to be aftermarket. When I called the dealer, I was asking to see if they could get the size off the parts fiche. I'm sure I'll have to take my tank to the parts store and either have it measured or try every metric nut they have until I find the right size/pitch to know where to start. Knowing my luck, the fitting I'm looking for either won't exist or it'll cost me $11,000,000. :-/

No, this will be the first time I ever needed one. Any other time I've worked on my bike I've always had plenty of extra nuts and bolts in the parts box from taking things off. It sounds like now is a good time to get one, eh? Thanks for all your help, I can be frustrating at times. I figured with the plethora of knowledge on this forum surely somebody had ran across this at one point or another.

I'm thinking it's a straight pipe thread that uses a sealing washer. I could find out maybe Monday.
I've never known anyone that wanted to change that fitting to a 90. Why are you doing it if you don't mind me asking?
I want to do this because I'm not using the stock fuel filter. I use the high flow inline style kind. It was easier to get the hose to change direction at the time and use the short curly que but after a few weeks I saw it hung down too far and the rear cylinder heat was making the plastic deform on the filter. So adding a 90 makes it switch direction without using hose and keeps hoses and filters as far away from heat as possible.

The fuel requirements of the carbs don't really require a high flow filter, but if that's what you want to use.
They're 5 bucks and a 5 minute drive to get them. Only reason I use those. Same place stocks k&n oil filters for me too.

Tell them to find you a 90 deg fitting. ;D
