"We are on the entertainment business," Flammini said. So does he believe the current format is boring people? Supersport and superstock only run one race, and they're usually even shorter than a superbike race. They're also frequently as exciting, or even more exciting to watch. I don't think a long race is inherently more exciting than a short race (otherwise Nascar would be extremely thrilling, and it isn't). Rather, I think the appeal of SS and STK are their larger grids, meaning there's that much more going on. Rather than worrying about race length, perhaps Flammini should see about getting another dozen bikes lined up to start every Sunday... (Also, I have nothing in particular against the idea of a longer superbike race. I just don't think that will actually address the issue he wants to address. I'm also not totally convinced there is an actual problem here. Or maybe superbike really is boring, and it just seems incredibly exciting compared to MotoGP... Then introduce a figure 8 into the main straight at Monza. [thumbsup] Title: Re: WSBk Endurance Formula? Post by: gm2 on March 20, 2012, 09:43:20 AM one, longer race that includes fuel stops
i think that would be cool as long as it was just occasionally. kinda like BSB 3-race weekends. Title: Re: WSBk Endurance Formula? Long enough to require fuel and tires. Not long enough to require lights. Title: Re: WSBk Endurance Formula? How about making them go through the gravel as part of the lap? (http://www.seppes.com/photos/635375144_Pfbck-XL.jpg) And/or jumps? Post by: duccarlos on March 20, 2012, 12:02:24 PM I've been to the 200. As long as they don't decide on a pace car, I'm all for pit stops. Also remember that the infield track they use in Daytona is not particularly demanding. I wouldn't want to see the conditions these guys end up in after a tough track.
