Title: motogp - videopass - anyone have it ?
Post by: ab on April 01, 2012, 04:26:40 AM
does anyone use the motogp video pass ?  How is the quality ?  What's the price in US Dollars?  Can you save the video's or it's live stream only ?

I don't have cable tv and therefore am considering getting it.

Any info or review is greatly appreciated.

The folks over in Racing and Trackdays can give you better answers.

The videos are stream through their site only.  Either live or recorded and you have access to a lot of the past seasons.
The quality is good and the 720p is almost as good as HD cable.
Price varies on quality level bought, but about $120 for full quality for the season.  For all three class races, qual, practice, interviews, past seasons, etc. comercial free it ain't bad.

Do you get to choose which onboard camera you can foliow ?  See the rider shift and rpm etc at the bottom ?  Do you choose angles?  Do they include the track map position of bikes etc.  Any features like that.

Thanks

As far as I know, you aren't able to choose cameras

The benefits of it for me were being able to watch the FPs and QPs whenever I wanted and the same with the race

Now that SPEED plays the race live, they are on at funky hours and with a kid, I can't just get up at 3AM to watch a race

I also enjoy being able to watch the interviews

And I watch all the Moto2 races in the off season to hold me over

Commercial free

Totally worth it to me

you don't have control over these things but you often see them as they are features of the normal Dorna broadcast, which is what this is.

if you're a MotoGP fan it's worth every penny.

yes it is. I don't get regular broadcasts down here, so it's well worth it. Now, if they could do the same for WSBK...

I think you misunderstood the question. I have access to a VPN. Is there a website where I can watch WSBK for free online?

sounds like you're saying that is not possible on worldsbk or eurosport?  i've never specifically looked, just know that tunnelbear (and the like) can give access to UK-only sites

Motogp are supposed to be releasing an iPad app that lets you watch all the various bike cams while you watch the race...

Sounds awesome if they can deliver...

There was a teaser saying the existing app would allow camera views, but now I can find no evidence of that. Perhaps they ran into problems...
