Title: looks like
Post by: Privateer on April 05, 2012, 06:23:49 PM
I'll be selling my bike...

wife lost her job last month and we're not making ends meet.  The sale proceeds, maint, and insurance on the bike won't cover the whole gap in our finances, but a good chunk of it for a while at least.

i don't know the last time I felt this shitty.

Sorry brother. That bites. You'll turn things around and get a better, badder Duc.

thanks.

just found out things might turn around for me.  I got a new position at work, merit increase wont fill the hole but the bonus structure changed and that might let me at least break even, which is all I ever ask for.

sorry, I didn't mean this to be a boo hoo feel sorry for me post.. I was just feeling shitty and needed to tell some people who would understand.

hope everyone had a good easter.

bleh.

found out today since I just got promoted I'm not eligible for the bonus program until next april.  With the promo came the exclusion from the december bonus program which we normally use for home owners insurance and property taxes.  So while I got a small raise with my promotion, I'll actually make less this year.  awesome.  but at least I have a job, i guess.

Once the bike is running, unless something great happens, I'll have to sell off the baby duc and be bikeless until things turn around.  6-12 months is my guess.  youngest kid will start preschool and the wife can go back to work.

sucks being a responsible adult.

If anyone's hiring night/weekend part time in the north OC area, I should be available in a couple weeks.

finally some good news.
looks like I get to keep it.  got a fiscal year end bonus which won't cover the entire hole, but most of it.  Wife picked up a summer job working at a girl scout camp once a month which is a paying gig, not a lot but it's something.

christmas will be very lean and 'fun' stuff will be nonexistent, but I won't have to unload my bike.
