I've been looking for some of these for a while now but couldn't find any either net our second hand - there must be some gathering dust somewhere.

i scored mine on eBay...     I haven't installed them any more than for a simple mockup though.   They are back on the shelf for the time being while the rest of that bike is being worked on.

I should note that I still can't figure out what is the point of the hole on the bracket (by the caliper).  It lines up to nothing, it 'roughly' fits into the groove between the pistons of the caliper, but there's certainly nothing there to mount it.  It isn't usefully placed for safety wire.   It doesn't line up with anything relevant on either the Brembo GP calipers or the OEM Brembo Goldlines.   It doesn't line up whether I'm using 916 forks or OEM Monster forks (40mm mount).

Thoughts?

Speedo cable thingy?

is that the location of the pin for pads?

Pin is on the top of the calipers, not the bottom.

Speedo cable thingy?

Its on both LH and RH brake air ducts.    Makes no sense.   The only thing holding the contraption to the fork is a single nut and washer on a longer axle pinch bolt.

yeah doh. saw that after I wrote it.

maybe the 40 vs 65mm mounts?

So that's what I was beginning to think, but still can't figure out how it would work with 65mm mounts - the hole is small.. RRRREAALLL small.  Like m4 or m5 sized, certainly not M6 and no way M8.

My Monster has the 998 forks with ohlins innards, which has 65mm caliper mounts - I want to fit it up to see if it would work there, but its all busy down there already with the 65-to-40mm caliper adapters for the ISR 6-pots

I don't know if road racing made them as a universal fit but found this Japanese site
