My CF front fender and termi exhaust cans are due for refinishing and I've seen some pics of the success of few have had in other threads but I want to make sure I've got everything I need together before I give it my first go. First question is: What kind/brand of clear coat would you recommend? Seems they're not all created equal but I wouldn't know how to judge.
Second, is this a job I'm fine doing just by hand or is it worth spending a few bucks on a little sander or a dremel or something? I've got a lot of CF to cover!
Any pointers or advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Don't skimp on the topcoat. Note that nobody ever posts about how thier refinished CF stuff looks a year later.
For projects like this I always try to use marine-quality stuff.

3M sanding pads will work great. They look like green dishwashing scrubber pads but are for sanding. They sand much more evenly than sandpaper and can be used wet. Most hardware stores and paint stores will have them.
I'm assuming you have a sprayer and don't brush it on...
a really good quality brush will do fine. do not use brushes with "exploded tips" or feathered tips for clears. they drag air bubbles into the finish. follow directions and don't apply in the sun.
there are others. just google marine clearcoat. some are available in spray cans. some are intended for hardwoods and may contain pigments so make sure they're clear.
