Love that bike! I like the traditional KTM colors, but man I saw the white/red one on display a couple weeks ago at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show... That's beautiful!!!

There are quite a few of us on here who have also been bitten by the KTM bug.

AFAIK you are the only one here with an RC8R, all of our KTM's pale in comparison.

Nice duke! Did you install Bazaaz? If you did, is it worth it?

There is not much info out there in the cyber world about the RC8(wish there was a forum like this for it). I hope that I could use the same info from bikes like the duke and super duke since there seem's to be more info on those bike's. Any info you can relay to me would be great!  [roll]

Very nice!  Happy Bike Day to you!
;D thnx!

The RC8 would be one of my top choices for a track bike if I ever fell into some money. Gorgeous bike and grats.

Mine is the one on the left.

Now as far as tuning goes, tuneECU works well on the RC8.  There's quite a few RC8 owners on SuperDuke.net as well.

I'm running a Bazzaz and would recommend it for your RC8R.

Does it make a big difference? Pros? Cons?

Had I left my bike stock ( [laugh] [laugh]) I wouldn't have needed it. PC finally has one for the RC8 if you want to go that route.

Those rc8r's are so gorgeous in person... and yes, I love the white/orange color scheme too.

Congrats man, you're going to love it... heard it's really comfy too with the amount of adjustability it has.

Nice thing about using tuneECU is that it's free.  There are quite a few people on SDnet who have maps they'd be happy to share for that beast.  The map I'm running on the SuperDuke is one I got from there.

I have read some koo and helpful info, maybe you can point me towards some good threads! Can you also explain this tuneECU thing to me? Is it just custom fuel mapping? Do I need to purchase a device to hook up to my bike? Thnx for the info DRKWNG! And thnx for all the compliments! I love the bike so far, rode it all this week to work and it is not a hassle like I thought it would be. I find it more easy to ride actually(even in traffic) compared to my monster. Is that weird?

I like the KTMs, same with some Harleys like the new Forty Eight.

Not a fan of plastic but it that bike really has some awesome agressive lines. ::)

TuneECU is basically shareware that two guys in Europe wrote for these bikes.  It is similar to what Tuneboy offers, only that it's free.  The website for the software is http://www.tuneecu.com/ (http://www.tuneecu.com/)

As I mentioned before, there is quite a bit of info on it located at SD.net.  The two main threads would be:
http://www.superduke.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12511 (http://www.superduke.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12511) which is more info based, and then
http://www.superduke.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=14763 (http://www.superduke.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=14763) which is a repository of different maps.

The only things you'll need to use this stuff is a windows based laptop, a cable (that you can make yourself) and the map you want to load.  Having access to a dyno is nice, but not required.  Just find a good map written by someone with similar mods to what you'll run and you're good.

I thought I wanted an RSV4 next.....

You're not ready.  For either

Great info thnx! [thumbsup]. Still not sure what mods will go into this beast, only had her for 5days and since i never really had a full on sports bike(Monster was my first motorcycle) I still need a lil adjusting to the height. I adjusted the seat to the lowest setting the bike let me but it is still kind of tall(5'7-5'8 here). I know once the rear suspension breaks in it will drop some but idk how much? I could live with the height but wish it was smaller.

Kraptaker that does look nice! Think that will be my first mod. BTW do you have the full on Bazzaz with TC?
