Title: Removing an engine.
Post by: Cicero on April 12, 2012, 01:21:41 PM
Hey all, been awhile since I posted in here, but here it goes.

My SS build is switching directions, eventually becoming a pure track toy. For now, it is just taking space in the garage. I'm going to be completely disassembling her, selling a few parts, and start from scratch when I have a bit more time.  The main thing I need to do is crate up the motor, so I can hang up the frame out of the way.

Which leads to my question, what is the best way to support the engine once it is removed from the frame? A simple 2x4 frame? A bench engine stand would be nice, but I don't have the extra money to spend right now.

most of the motors on ebay are either on a roller 2x4 "creeper" or just on the ground. I dont need it to be pretty, i just dont want to damage anything, as a turbo may be in the motor's future.....  [evil]
