Title: Front sprocket retaining plate
Post by: d3vi@nt on April 14, 2012, 02:58:23 PM
Wanted to make sure I installed my 14T sprocket correctly. The shop manual says, "position the retaining plate with the rounded corner facing the sprocket".  I can't for the life of me figure out what the "rounded corner" is. The retaining plate is symmetrical, as are the teeth.  The only thing I can determine is that the edges on one side of the plate seem rounded all around, while the edges on flip-side are flatter. Is this what they're referencing?

Pretty sure they're referring to slightly rounder edges on a brand new part.

They punch them out of sheetmetal, so the edges on one side will be rounded slightly.

Makes sense. Thanks!
