Title: Front rotor
Post by: Eldon on April 17, 2012, 05:15:58 PM
I was removing front wheel for tire replacement. The wheel was leaned agnist the wall and it slid down on to the concrete floor could the rotor have bent.i put the wheel back on and spun it looks straight.

I only speak from car experience so it may not be the same here but rotors are known for being tremendously tough. Tough as in, it's usually alright to set a car on its rotor during a tire change if there's nothing else around. I'd think you're fine

most oem car rotors are cast iron, most bike rotors ate stainless steel. while not the easiest material to bend it is much more possible than cast iron.

the buttons holding the two parts of your rotors together make your rotors semi floating. that will absorb a little warp/wobble if forced but its not ideal. dont worry about it for the time being just put it back on the bike and it its bent you will feel it. worry about it then.

Most likely part to bend is the carrier.  If the wheel didn't come down with a thud all is probably good.  Since it spins well put the bike together and go for a ride.  No pulsation all is good

Car rotors ain't that tough.  It is not OK to rest a car on it's rotors.
