Title: Where to find Monster saddle bags in S.F. Post by: 160round on June 24, 2008, 05:38:12 PM Going on a road trip in early July and I need some good-sized saddle bags that fasten securely. I tried Scuderia, the D-Store, Munroe, and the Harley place. I tried out the First Gear bags and found them to be just a poor fit for my 2001 M900 S.i.e.( low mounting pipes ) Anyone have a suggestion for where to look for/order nice-fitting large saddle bags?
I'd prefer to walk in and purchase something from inventory than order from a catalog i.e. the Ducati gear. Thanks. Title: Re: Where to find Monster saddle bags in S.F. Post by: duckwrench13 on June 24, 2008, 05:51:08 PM Try the Nelson Riggs saddle bags. Good size, easy to mount.

Thanx for the feed back, Do you know any place around that might stock them? (besides the places i mentioned that i have already tried) I don't mind going out of the city to get them. If you need 'em yesterday, PM yellowducknymph. She's got a whole set up, and might let you borrow them...as long as you're back before GP. I know she's riding down to Laguna Seca, so she'll need 'em. I just remembered that RKA is just up the road in Sonoma. Great folks, and amazing gear! [thumbsup] [thumbsup] If they have what you need, you could probably just go up and pick it up from them. Bonus: it makes a nice day of riding too! [moto] http://www.rka-luggage.com Title: Re: Where to find Monster saddle bags in S.F. Title: Re: Where to find Monster saddle bags in S.F. Post by: Michael Moore on June 25, 2008, 11:54:51 PM I bought my saddle bags from RKA and they are great people. I've had 'em for about 4 years and they still look and work great. One tip: make sure the two zippers meet at the *back* of the bag. If they meet in the front there's a chance the wind will open things up and all your stuff with be lining the freeway.

thanks again for all the feeback I would still be lost in the big bad world of saddelbags without your help. I ended up getting a set of used RKA bags from one of the great people at the D. store [thumbsup]. the RKA bags will be going to my girl, because they are big and you have never seen anyone that overpacks like her [laugh]. Now I have to set myself up. I'm going to take Pete up on his offer of coretec bags. |
