Title: kick stand Post by: sofadriver on April 21, 2012, 08:14:38 PM We finally had a nice day here today and I was reminded that I have to do something about the pad on the end of my kickstand. I ground half of it off when I low-sided last fall (S2r1000's slide along real nice on the front axle, left bar end weight and the kickstand pad :'( ). The pad is now ground into a spearhead shape and will sink into hot asphalt for sure. Any ideas besides welding on a larger pad or carrying one of those plastic kickstand pads/ flattened soda can? Last time I removed a kickstand it was a real PITA.

Looks like I'll have to have it welded. I didn't care enough to put energy into figuring out what part of the switch you would need to re-work to keep it, but the problem with it is that its reversed (so the bike shuts off with the sidestand up and in gear) |
