Title: Re: Open timing belt covers Post by: memper on April 23, 2012, 05:36:40 PM Anyone ever cut out the face of the covers and replace with clear plexi? I was considering this on my 99 750 dark.

Took it off traced the old one and cut a piece of lexan out for it, threw a led behind it and bam held up just fine and looks pretty cool if i say so myself.

Title: Re: Open timing belt covers Post by: SupraGuy74 on May 01, 2012, 01:50:54 PM no there are only 3 screw that hold the covers on so its no big deal.

Title: Re: Open timing belt covers Post by: SupraGuy74 on May 01, 2012, 10:13:25 PM long story short drill bit i was using slipped and made a hole where i didn't want it [bang] should have been more careful, but i think it looks better with the lexan anyway [Dolph]
Title: Re: Open timing belt covers Post by: suzyj on May 02, 2012, 02:28:54 AM I sandblasted my horizontal head today, and with the number of little stones that I found caught between the cooling fins, there's no way I'm ever running open belts.
