I picked up an internship in Grand Junction CO and will be riding out there Late May. Hope to meet some of you guys and bring some trouble your way. :P

Hopefully, you'll still be around in August for this:

In any case, we may need to rendezvous somewhere between GJ & Denver.  [thumbsup]

Great!     [beer]

I get that way for work so shoot me a PM when you get there.  But also when you're coming through if you need a place to stay one last night before making the final 200+ twisty mile trek (unless you're flying, of course).

i will be riding the 3-4 days it takes to get there for sure. I havent figured out the whole logistics, but i guess ill be Craiglisting people who are offering a sublease for tehe summer or something. How is GJ i anyone knows. It seems like a small town and not much to do. Its always so lonely when moving to a small town, especially coming from a big city.

Yes, it will definitely be a big change from NYC.

I don't think they have garbage service there, so your bike should be safe.  ;)

If you're into the outdoors, there is plenty to do.  If you into concerts, movies, clubs, you'll be bored.  There is a pretty cool (although tiny) downtown area with some decent restaurants/bars/shops.

Awesome moto riding to the south of there.

And peaches.  Best peaches in the country (sorry Georgia) are from Palisades, just east of GJ.

Keep us posted on when you're headed out and if you need anything.

outdoors is one of the reasons why i chose to take the internship. :) i figured that since Grand Junction has an REI, that most people there are outdoors type, so it would be a nice way to meet some people.

Hopefully i can do DiTR depending on whats going to happen during that weekend.

What about trackdays? whats the nearest track?

I actually got word from my employer that I don't actually have to be in Grand Junction to do 90% of the work since its either in field or can be done at home. So that leaves me with the option of being another near by town. Denver is a long way, but is doable I think. would be a much better place...i think.

PM me when you have a schedule figured out... I'll join ya from the Denver to GJ leg, via Ouray and some roads I think you'd enjoy  [Dolph]

Cheers,
Adam

Don't forget the vineyards just a stones throw east of GJ. Lots of weekend band on the lawn kind of things there.

Besides, you are not so far from Ouray/Telluride/Moab anyway...  ;D

I've got a place downtown and room for your bike in my garage, so you're more than welcome to crash here and check out the scene  [thumbsup]

Cheers,
Adam
