Ok , so I was preparing my m750 for this season and when I checked the spark plugs (champion) I broke the tip of the vertical cylinder one .. anyway, I had 2 ngk from last year .. So I replaced them right the way.. The engine started running much better than before.. The gasoline was burning way better than before.. the bike wasn't lean anymore.. I'd like to know if anybody experienced smth similar, if yes why is that? Thank you! [Dolph]
Which model# Champions did you take out, and which NGK's did you put in?

man, don't get me started on champions... [roll]
big headache with my monster, questions out the yin yang on TOB. bike started running like shit at about 2k miles? had everything else looked at, changed fuel filter, TBS, checked valves... plugs were still light brownish so it was ruled out early.
as a "why the hell not?" I swapped out to the NGKs, and BAM. bike runs cherry for the next 6k (sold :'( )

I wrote off Champions back in my 2 stroke days and have never given them a 2nd chance. Maybe they are better now, maybe they work better in 4 strokes, I'll never use them long enough to find out. I don't know what it was but champions would foul out and need cleaning so often it was frustrating. NGKs would keep running in that oil/gas mix.
40k miles on this set of Champions in my S4.
I felt guilty I'd run them so long, even though they looked OK and the bike ran fine.
So I put some new ones in.
Bike ran the same...

Funny how this works sometimes. I suppose when the heat range of the Champions is just dead perfect for an engine, nothing from another maker works as well. My Maico 400WR and both my Land Rover V8's work best on Champions and the OE replacement plug in the white and green box is a pre-gapped Champion. I change them every 30K and like you, no difference. Maybe they had a tiny bit of strap wear but insignificant.
I'm running NGK with over 2k and going strong

Back when I was working on 2002s, Bavarias, 530s, etc the recommended plugs were Champion, Bosch and Beru. All ran best on Bosch except the 2002ti, which loved Champions.
