Title: 2000 M750 Front end resonance ~30mph
Post by: WiDuc on May 09, 2012, 08:52:23 AM
Still diagnosing the situation, but figured I'd put this out there for suggestions early on.

It seems to be only an audible resonance from the front end, noticed only around the 30-32 mph range in town.

Findings so far:
Remains while pulling in clutch, have not tried downhill in neutral.
Attempted to apply brakes and see if it remains, however hard to tell as its window was hard to stay in under braking.
Checked front tire pressure after noticing and was 29 psi (cold), however remained after I brought it back up to 31 psi (cold) another day.

I was leaning towards front brake/rotor components or possibly wheel bearings but have not fully inspected those yet.
Or possibly this could be something that is completely normal and I'm just noticing it now as I'm becoming more familiar with the bike.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Erik

Try lifting the front end up off the ground and see how straight the wheel is.  Doesn't make sense though if it only happend between 30-32mph.

I have this, maybe it's the same thing - it comes & goes, sometimes more noticeable than others.  Pretty sure it's my left wheel bearing; last time I had the wheel off it was chewing into my axle.

Thanks for the replies.

Mine also appears to come and go, or at least not be as noticeable at times.  I'll certainly check out the bearings for a little more piece of mind.
