Title: M695 starting trouble, even in warmer weather
Post by: tuxicle on May 10, 2012, 08:09:48 PM
Last couple of days, I noticed that my 695's tends to rev low as soon as I switch off the fast idle during warm-up. This is true even in the afternoons, with warmer temps. Last week, I took my bike in for the 7500 mi service, and they did the fluid flush. I did see another thread (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=9147.0) that suggested it could be water in the clutch fluid? I never saw this happen before I took it in for servicing. Any ideas are much appreciated.

Water in the clutch fluid would not effect idle - put that out of your mind. That can cause other hassles like difficulty shifting - but not low idle unless it's really dragging. And that happens when the fluid is hot and the water becomes steam.

Change of fluids should not have changed anything either.

Really, it just sounds like they need to adjust your idle. You could probably get them to do it for free, as they should have noticed during the service.

But, what's 'low'?

Sorry, should have been more specific. After warming up for about 45 seconds to a minute, the idle speed is just under 1000 rpm. I did take the bike back to the shop today, and they said I probably warmed up for too short a time. Guess if it gets too annoying, I'll take it back.
