Title: Tire recommendations: M620
Post by: Starscream on May 11, 2012, 10:39:42 AM
Hi people!

It's been a while since I've bought tires for a bike (long story...haven't used my Monster as much as I've liked). But it's time for new tires now.

I looked through the Tire Rating thread, but since I'm kinda out of the loop on the latest tires available, and I have some particular demands, I decided to create this one.

I ride aggressively most of the time. I might do 1 or 2 trackdays in the upcoming months, but don't see myself doing more. Actually, I just want to do them because it's been so long since I've visited the track and just want to do it for the heck of it.

I need a tire with bi or tri compounds. My commute will include LOTS of straights (interstate), and the twisties are only for the weekend. Basically, I want a sport oriented road tire. I've been looking at the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II, any thoughts on it?

Also, it's possible that I won't be using the bike for commuting at all, but in case I do, I want to be prepared, hence why I want something that won't go square too fast...not looking for the highest mileage, just a nice compromise between corner grip and the center not squaring in 1000 miles  ;D

Any other recommendations, I'm all ears! Thanks!  :)

I push my monster around the street alot but the Pilot Road 2 or 3 would be a good choice.  The hard center last a long time and the sides are softer for more grip.  Again no track days so this recommendation is for street use.
