Title: Oberon Billet Foot Pegs or Powder Coat the Stock Foot Pegs?
Post by: The ModFather on May 11, 2012, 12:11:19 PM
I'm going to powder coat the rearsets black on my 05 Monster 620 Dark and planned on getting Black Oberon Billet Race Foot Pegs. These dont look that different than the stock foot pegs except they're all nice and shiny being Billet. The Oberon Foot Pegs arent expensive at $49 a pair. Can I leave them on when the rear sets are powder coated? I've never gotten any powder coating done. Also the bolts with the big chrome heads that hold on the rear sets... how do I get those black. I know powder coating chrome can be an issue according to the guys at the Powder Coat shop. Can you buy black replacements for those or just have them powder coated too?

The billet pegs won't match the powder coating, but that's your call. As far as fasteners, look here.

I poweder coated my stock rearsets and foot pegs, After about 800 miles, the left side ( gear side) peg has worn out a little on the edge. My powder coat guy did warn me about it with the boots rubbing on and off .

Thanks for the tip on the PC wear. I don't think the foot pegs need to exactly match the rear sets. If they're both black I'm good with that. I'm going stick with PC rear sets and Billet Pegs.
