Title: sport classic tank on a older generation monster? Post by: tristantumble on May 18, 2012, 06:08:01 AM has anyone done this? im assuming the stock seat wouldn't work either..i would love to see pictures if anyone knows of any, and if its possible to swap out the tank, i think it would look really great.

Title: Re: sport classic tank on a older generation monster? Post by: seanster on May 18, 2012, 08:17:45 AM Just wait for the CA-Cycleworks Monster Racing Tank...they're in the second stage of refinement.

Title: Re: sport classic tank on a older generation monster? Post by: gatorgrizz27 on May 18, 2012, 11:17:33 AM Won't fit due to the monster's frame width being wider than the channel in the tank for it to sit down properly, as well as the rear sump setup that hangs down where the shock mounts. Unfortunately it is difficult to modify the sport classic tanks because they are poly. Best bet would be to take it to a decent hot rod shop and have them make you a custom tank.

For the seat, it will involve frame modifications, pretty massive ones at that. Title: Re: sport classic tank on a older generation monster? Post by: Travman on May 22, 2012, 04:55:15 AM The Sport classic tanks look way too large. They don't look too bloated from the side view, but when you compare a Monster to a Sport 1000 from the rear three quarters view you can really see the difference. They are so big due to the large area under the tank for the airbox. Even if you could transfer the tank to the Monster frame, it wouldn't look good.
