Title: looking for some clutch help (m900)
Post by: rsoffar on May 23, 2012, 03:30:29 PM
So the bike was running fine until it was caught outside for a pretty good rain, since then i cant shift from neutral without the bike stalling so the clutch seems to not be disengaging when i pull the lever. I did notice the reservoir was a bit low so i topped it off but to no help. Does this sound like i need to bleed the line or perhaps rain caused some rusting from getting in the open clutch cover (i didnt notice before if they were like this or not but the springs do appear to have some rust forming on them)

thanks in advance

Bleeding the clutch especially if it's not been done in a year never hurts.

But it's probale that you've got plates that have rusted together. Pull the stack and ensure all the plates separate.

Before pulling anything apart try rocking the bike back and forth in gear with the clutch lever pulled in.
