Title: Re: CL Steal notice - 999S $2350 Post by: sofadriver on May 28, 2012, 04:12:37 PM I flagged a CL listing this morning and I'll bet it's the same scammer. "Pristine" '06 CBR600 with new everything plus tires. $2350.(same price) Very professional looking pics and a large box inviting you to "click here for more pics/info".(a link to who knows what).
The whole thing was too upscale to be offering a nice bike at a giveaway price. I hate scammers. Title: Re: CL Steal notice - 999S $2350 Post by: Ducatamount on May 29, 2012, 02:57:26 AM Now that you mention it,a while back I came across a '73 Norton (www.stumbled (http://)...something,something) all cafe'd out (alu. tank,rearsets,clip-ons,etc.) and the price was $2350.Was worth at least $7000,so obviously it was a scam.I replied that I would like to buy it,that's all I wrote. He wrote back that he lived in Las Vegas and was a card dealer on a cruise ship, out of town for weeks at a time, and had nowhere to store it,signed it, Jeremy.I knew it was a scam and did not reply. The next day,I got another offer to buy it for $1250,this time the guy had a different name, signed it, William.

Title: Re: CL Steal notice - 999S $2350 - Possible Scam Post by: 1KDS on May 29, 2012, 03:53:24 AM I have a Craigslist Notification app on my phone, it shows me every time someone posts a new ad with Ducati in the title or body of the message, ads like in the OP aren't new, I flag 5 or 6 of them a day. They are either in the $1,900 or $2,300 range I think depending on the actual spammer writing it. They also write a ton of key words in them but they are usually in white text so you can't see them but the search finds them.
