Title: Exhaust leak 2011 796 Post by: SteveO. on May 30, 2012, 07:45:05 AM Started my bike this morning and was letting it warm up, as it was quite cool and noticed water dripping from the joint in the exhaust right near the springs. Watched a little closer and could see some "puffs" of exhaust as well, and I'm wondering if this is normal? I was also wondering if the leak could be making the sound I've been chasing for a while here. http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=57200.0 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=57200.0) Any answers appreciated. Thanks. ...Steve

Title: Re: Exhaust leak 2011 796 Post by: Dirty Duc on May 30, 2012, 12:03:00 PM I cannot comment on warranty claims for exhaust gaskets... mine is caused by the permanent misalignment resulting from contact with concrete...
Title: Re: Exhaust leak 2011 796 Post by: Curmudgeon on May 31, 2012, 04:12:09 PM There is an exhaust drain back there! When you first start the bike, you get condensation. Drips on your swing arm, right? Totally normal. Cars have those too, don't you know. ;D

Cars have those too, don't you know. ;D I get the same thing, always assumed it was condensation as well. I noticed it more in spring when the temperatures were closer to zero degrees celcius but I haven't noticed it in the hotter weather. When you first start the bike, you get condensation. Drips on your swing arm, right? Totally normal. Cars have those too, don't you know. ;D I realized it was condensation, but it seemed like it was coming from the junction in the system right by the springs and I thought it was unusual to see exhaust coming out from there as well. You figure it's normal to see exhaust from that junction? I'm just really trying to figure out a funny noise from the bike and thought this could be it. Thanks. ....Steve Title: Re: Exhaust leak 2011 796 Post by: murc585 on June 04, 2012, 02:41:54 PM Welcome to our humble abode murc585 [thumbsup] do I detect the presence of a commonwealth cousin? I appreciate the welcome ungeheuer! I believe I have already picked your brain with Rexxer questions. I'm quite a while away actually, from Montréal in Canada.
