Title: Re: RIP Doc Post by: triangleforge on May 30, 2012, 04:00:12 PM I was lucky enough to see him play a number of times; whether live or recorded, no matter how closely I listened or watched his hands, I could never figure out how he made so many intertwined lines of music come out of one guitar & one flatpick.
In one of the tributes I heard on the radio yesterday, one of his longtime collaborators remarked on how sharp a musician had to be to keep up with him. You could tell he was smiling when he said "You know, Doc never played a song the same way once." RIP, Doc.
