There is no legal impediment to doing so and since VDOT offers no discount for Virginia drivers or charge to out-of-state EZPass holders, there is no reason for me to accept a non-usage related fee. If you want to cover your budget gap, how about cutting salaries 5% and make people buy their own coffee? There are plenty of unemployed people out there right now who would be happy to fill the spot of someone unhappy with a small salary cut. Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island have no monthly fee and all will happily accept my money to open an account. What bugs me the most about these fees is that they start small, to make it seem like it's not a big deal, but then they just increase constantly. Reminds me of Metro...There are plenty of unemployed people out there right now who would be happy to fill the spot of someone unhappy with a small salary cut. [thumbsdown] Mass will send you one without question. Ironic. Actually, if I have to get one from out of state I'll probably choose Maine. They deserve the money more than Mass.
