I'm thinking I need to replace the tensioner possibly? Perhaps its bent?
In an ideal world the axes of the two pulleys and the tensioner will all be parallel and so will their surfaces.
My feeling is that one of the pulleys is not machined correctly so that either its axis or the surface is out of parallel with the others.
I would try replacing the tensioner first, or maybe the head pulley. If that doesn't do it, then the drive pulley.
Very odd problem.
It's as if one of them is conical and it's pushing the belt off the axis
have the pulleys been replaced?
if so, is the rubber bushing behind them in place? was it overtorqued?

No, I havn't had the pulleys replaced. This problem started happening at 3000 miles, bike has 10k on it now. Ive always just kept my eye on it.

Yes, this is my gut feeling too. Id like to replace everything in that part of the drive train, its probably going to be expensive. I don't know what else I can do. I've tried tensioning everything from too loose to too tight, no difference.

I would just replace the pulleys first. You can find them on ebay cheapish.
Have you always used that brand belts?
Put some on my s2r1k and making a hell of a noise for 500 miles now- figured they were riding the flange on the pullys. Gonna return them.
Those are ExactFit belts aren't they?

Yes, this is my first time buying Exact Fit belts. I started having the problem with OEM Ducati belts. The exact fit stuff is exactly that, exactly the same, but cheaper. I trust CA Cycleworks.
EDIT:
I havn't made any progress with the situation. Too many things happening right now for me to mess with the bike. I'm going to throw on my old belt for now from the verticle cylinder which is perfectly intact/albeit old. I don't see the point in ruining another brand new belt until I have this problem fixed.

When I first noticed a problem with my belts, I was able to hear them rubbing against my belt cover. I removed my belt cover and found this:

This was from the OEM Ducati belts around 3K miles, I should have brought the bike in for warranty then but I was too lazy. I continued to run with th belt covers off so that they didnt rub away the actual width of the belt, only the flange now chewing away at the teeth.

I didn't think it was the belt nor have I heard any complaints about ExactFit, I was just confirming.
If you had the problem with both the OEM (Gates) and ExactFit, then start replacing hard stuff.
Just updated with some more pictures. I am on Navy internet, which is a stone age browser so nothing worked, I will derby when I get home.
Im thinking to start by replacing the forward horizontal pulley. I know that the main drive pulley functions well for the vertical cylinder (there is no rubbing) so replacing the forward horizontal pulley might be a good place to start.
I suppose also replacing the horizontal tensioner as well might be a good idea.
Whenever I would bring my bike by a dealership I would get some freakouts from the techs, told them I've been running like this for thousands of miles, I keep my eye on it closely so I know whats going on with them at all times.

Does anyone have an exploded view of the timing belt system? If I remove the 3 allens from inside the cog, will that release the entire pulley?
that's what i'd do. you can find pulleys on ebay
It might be worth a run up to ECS and see what they think http://www.europeancycleservices.com (http://www.europeancycleservices.com) with the belt covers off and see what they think before replacing parts. The shotgun method can be costly and time consuming. Call first.
Or if you want, I will take a look at it if you take a trip to my house.
