Title: Any feedback on e-bay eprom's?
Post by: d3vi@nt on June 20, 2012, 09:37:31 AM
Been trying to find a FIM 161 eprom, but the company that manufactured them is long gone.  Anyone have any experience with these from Slovakia?

Well, the store had a good rating, so I threw the dice.  Shipping time seemed about right given the distance. Arrived in a small envelope with "Gift" written on it, I assume to avoid customs charges. A little shady, I guess. Can't tell the origin -it had a "Ducati Performance" sticker on it, so who knows if it's legit or counterfeit.

Either way, it was well worth the $45.  The bike ('99 ST2) no longer stumbles around 4k rpm's and is even fine down to 3k rpm's.  The power band is smoother, the bike is smoother through the revs and it pulls way better now. Feels like it gained a few hp, but I have no way to quantify. The fan kicks in a little earlier, too, which is a plus.
