Title: 2001 M750 Ignition Key
Post by: hankrecor on June 21, 2012, 06:14:00 PM
I am new to Ducati and recently bought a 2001 M750. Love this bike. The previous owner only had one key. The owners manual states, "Your Ducati was delivered with two universal keys for ignition, steering lock and seat catch and a key identification plate." My one black key works just fine and I just bought a blank to make a second, for a spare.  I have been reading on the forum about an infamous Red key and coding.  Was this done in 2001? Am I unable to simply cut a second key and forever left with not loosing the one key I have?

Thanks in advance.

Hank

You have an ordinary key Hank, no red key needed.  Just get a locksmith to cut it for you

Perfect, thanks. This forum has been great reading. There is so much to learn, but at least it's fun. Thanks again.
