not much i can add to that. tried to get her to turn over for about 30 seconds, noticed some smoke come up from under the tank and the terminal had dripped away.
she had been being a little difficult to turn over for the past month. but not too bad really.
who's got a possible explanation?
thanks in advance

A bad connection at the battery.

Bad connection = high resistance = heat.

Sounds like a short circuit. Don't attempt to turn her over again until you find the problem.

if there was a short then the main fuse would have blown
as others mentioned it would have been a loose battery terminal

When you replace the battery make sure you clean up the terminal on the cable properly - give it a good scratch up down to bare metal with a knife. If the new battery terminal and the terminal on the cable aren't making good contact it will happen again. Clean up the other pair also.

				Thanks everybody!
Wish I didnt have to replace a 7 month old battery for something so simple, but at least it's something simple  ;D
I'll let her sit and think about what she did while I give my old honda a chance to get some fresh air finally.
Great weekends to all and to all a goodnight!!
