So I purchased a set of S4R Termi Slip Ons (udder back) to see if they would fit on my S2R.  I wasn't 100% sure that it would fit prior to purchase but most of what I had read and searched said that udder-back, slip ons are the same.  Also visually it's not very easy to tell (at least I didn't think so, and mind you I did spend a lot of time looking at side by side pictures of S4Rs and S2Rs).  

They are not.

The S4R pipes out of the udder are a larger diameter than the stock S2R pipes and is bent differently.  The cans end up much lower than where the stock ones ended.  Pics attached.  

Anyways, just wanted to post it so everyone knew (if they didn't already) and doesn't make the same mistake.  It isn't a big deal to me as I can either sell the set or have an exhaust shop make me some new pipes.  I haven't decided just yet.  Seems that S2R Termi's are quite hard to come by (yes I know there was one on Miami CL, but I had already purchased these before that post).

Bike sounds good with just the udder though!  Ha!   :P  

Do you have an S2R 1000??


It seems that several of the exhausts for the S2R 800 and S4R are compatible (udder back)..

The S2R1K is a different beast all together.....

those pipes are for an RS/RT . . . which is not compatible with anything but itself unfortunately.

I'm running S2R under tail termi's with a marvin mid pipe and fits PERFECT.  Anything outside the 996 series engine will not be the same diameter as the S2R series.  I too pondered this and had an audience in my garage while doing the work.

I mean I could always just upgrade to an S4RS fit the exhaust now couldn't I? 

that seems logical since the RS is such a beast.
so the question remains............are the S2r800, S2r1000 and (standard)S4r pipes the same from the cat back?

yes.  you will need a mid pipe or keep the cow udder

Could anyone here with a Termi set for the S2R800/1K/S4R measure the diameter of the inlet on the CF muffler?  I'm curious to know if it is just the udder-to-muffler pipes which are different.  Or are the mufflers different between the 2 systems as well.  That is - would the udder-to-muffler pipes off a S2R/1K/S4R system mate to my muffler cans is what I am trying to find out.

I'm assuming that they would be different due to the increased diameter of the piping but would like to be sure.   

Also I've edited the topic to reflect S4RS/S4RT as well. 

the slip on mufflers for S2R800, S2R1000 and S4R (996 Desmoquattro) are all the same.  pipes are 40mm.

S4Rs, S4Rt (998 Teststretta) are 45mm.

as reference here's my original set up before I chopped the cans down and replaced the mid pipe.  this will give you a visual of the S4R with S2R 800/1000 termis, granted mine are under tail.

Muskrat - That's a nice bike.  However I really like the look of the shotgun over the undertail system. 

The inlet diameter to the cans on my 2007 S4Rs (testa) are 54mm. This is a full Termi system without the cow udder contraption.

couldn't you just have some shims made? like a small 2-inch long reducer that fits between your new termi pipes and the outlets from your udder?

Unfortunately no.  The S4RS/T pipes have a different bend than the S2R/S4R pipes coming out of the udder.  If you see in the pictures I originally posted the lower pipe would end slightly above midway on the rear tire.  To make the S4RS/T slip on set fit on an S2R/S4R you would have to get a shop to bend you some new piping from the udder to the cans, and the piping would have to be 40mm at the udders to fit inside a 54mm diameter at the cans.
