to delete old posts you just have to hit edit and then edit again.  a new page loads and at the top is an option to delete.

I just deleted about 25 old posts, took about 15 mins. Pretty time consuming...

I went to my profile, clicked on see all posts from this member, clicked the link for that message and hit edit. Once the screen popped up, clicked the edit button AGAIN and then chose delete from the options...

Yea, I noticed my pm's linking me over were missing from my inbox.  The rest of them were still there.  I guess certain things got accidentally deleted in the change over...

For some reason, im not able to login to the old board to edit my account and posts as well.  Anyone else having problems? 

I had to reset my password in order to log on.  Found most of my PM's missing.  Haven't looked around the board to see what else is going on ~

They have a bot that searches for strings like "ducatimonsterworldwide" and "coastalducaticlub"

just change it to d*u*c*a*t*i*w*o*r*l*d*w*i*d*e etc

if you have a hard time typing that, just do it once and save it in on your desktop.

the other thing to do is put your link in quotes, the bot seems to ignore quoted text.

and FYI, the first amendment doesn't apply to private behavior, just as the other website is.  it applies to government.

Man.... I just back to TOB to check an see about my PMs and any though policing.... VS did a doozy to me.  Somehow lots of old (circa 2006) messages have come back to life - but anything I had in my Inbox before the cataclysm is gone.  How yah like them apples...

I've previously sent information in PMs that was not censored.  I went back to TOB to check a PM that was in my Outbox and the web address has been replaced with "xxxxxxxxx"

You could edit Pre-VS posts early yesterday - they have now taken that away.  You can only edit posts that have been put on TOB since yesterday.

This is obvious to most of us, but to those who haven't gotten it...

VS blocked the ability to delete pre-VS posts because if we go remove everything we ever wrote, the knowledge goes away.  If the accumulated knowledge goes away, then there's no reason to visit that site (and it stops showing up in Google's webcrawling).  No visitors... ad space isn't worth anything.

My suggestion: since most of us have already left that board for dead, how about we work on growing the knowledge base of this board?  By that I mean, let's start taking some of the most valuable threads from the old Tech section and GMF, and start threads here with copied information.  If we can build a solid foundation of knowledge and know-how, there will be less need to go "hit" the old site.

I, for one, will be avoiding VS-owned boards as much as possible.  I'm on ducati.ms and read the Supersport section, but only when I can't get SS-specific info here (most of the engine info is identical, since my bike just has a 900 desmodue mill).

Update - looks like there is some level of editing/deletion of older posts possible now.  It seems to work for the majority of posts.

Still no editing of older posts and no deletion of any posts.

I'm doing it on my older posts.

It doesn't work on threads that you started (even your replies later on in the thread).

announce in the TOSAT thread when there are lots of posters that you are only going to respond in smiley icons. Try not to use the same ones over and over again, but use icons that are appropriate to the quote you are responding to.

I am still able to get in.  I changed my avatar to the VS, and I changed my signature to dodge the filter.  If you use the vB codes for changing color, font size, or whatever, you can split up the terms the filter searches for and it will go through.  My current sig over there:

Well, unless they just completely disable vB codes, you could simply break it down into four words they would have a hard time blocking; Ducati, Monster, World, and Wide. Even if some lunatic tried to block those, you could break it down to individual letters with code in between.

Of course they will probably just end up disallowing signatures or avatars, but it is still fun to screw with them.
